About Amy Boyd
A lifelong Edmontonian, Amy obtained her Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. During her time at the Faculty of Law, Amy developed a passion for oral advocacy while participating in competitive mock trials. This passion has extended into her legal career, where she is always eager to represent her clients’ best interests in court and otherwise.
Post-law school, Amy articled at a large, regional firm where she garnered expertise in civil litigation and wills and estates. During her articles and early years of practice, she successfully represented clients at the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench. Amy realizes that family law disputes are sensitive in nature, and she always leads with empathy and compassion when assisting clients to navigate these difficult times.
While Amy does not shy away from litigation, she is aware that there are often less burdensome ways to resolve family law matters. Amy always keeps her client’s best interests in mind when advising them on other means of resolution, such as mediations, collaboration, settlements, etcetera.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys hiking, going for bike rides, reading, and spending time with her two rescue dogs, Nova and Archer.
